Waiting Room
I’m sure we have all noticed how congested the waiting room can get at times. Please try to only bring you and your dancer, if possible. If we could also not have the kids change their shoes in the middle of the floor; they can bring shoes into the studio to change. Additionally, we have had several concerns arise from the teachers regarding siblings/other dancers being too loud and rowdy in the waiting room. This has caused a large distraction within the studios during class which is of course unfair to the teachers and students during time of instruction. If we all work together and be mindful of others, I’m sure we can make improvements on this situation. We appreciate your immediate attention to this matter.

Cookie Dough Fundraiser
Every year we do an OPTIONAL cookie dough fundraiser to help reduce the cost of costumes. Please note the online order option DOES NOT WORK. We will do cash only sales. You may also use your profit towards tuition. Forms will be passed out the first week and all money and forms are due by 10/4 between 8:30 AM and 1:00 PM. We will accept CASH ONLY,(NO COINS PLEASE) no checks/cards will be accepted!!! You will receive a $10 profit for every item you sell. Top two sellers will receive a $100 bonus towards costumes/tuition to be applied directly to your account! We will be accepting cookie money during the week if one of the staff members is in the office and is free. Please be patient since we need to count all the money and verify forms when it is dropped off. Pick up will be ONLY on Friday 11/21. If you do not pick up your cookie dough on this day, it will go bad and not be able to be handed out. If you think pick up will be a problem for you, please consider that when participating in this fundraiser. Keep in mind, anyone can pick up your cookie dough!
Dance Shoes
A rule at Pirouette is that no dance shoes are to be worn outside then worn in the studio. Dance shoes are very expensive and get ruined very quickly if worn on outside surfaces such as pavement. Also, when students wear their shoes outside, they bring in dirt, rocks, and other particles that are then transferred onto our dance floors causing damage and slipping hazards. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO WEAR THEIR DANCE SHOES OUTSIDE. If we see the children coming in with dance shoes on, they will not be allowed to wear them in the classroom until properly cleaned. A hack we have seen a lot of our dancers do is wear crocs over their dance shoes to go outside.
Attendance Policy Reminder
Please be mindful of our attendance policy as it is strictly enforced. If your child is going to miss class please email/call or let a staff member know. ATTENDANCE POLICY– Once your child has 12 UNEXCUSED absences they will NO LONGER BE ABLE TO PERFORM IN RECITAL, regardless if you have already purchased the costume or any items associated with Recital. An excused absence is one where a doctor’s note is provided. Please submit documentation to the office or email to the studio at info@pirouettedanceacademy.com to have your attendance marked as EXCUSED. If students are absent on a regular basis, it hinders the whole class and choreography. Some routines also require partners or assistants for stunts so if everyone is not present, it would negatively impact others. If your child habitually misses class you will be required to schedule a private lesson at a cost of $25, per the instructor’s discretion.
Halloween Spirit Week Fundraiser
The week of 10/24-10/30 we will be having a Halloween Spirit Week Fundraiser (Friday thru Thursday)! The kids can wear costumes or any type of Halloween apparel ALL WEEK! We kindly ask all participating for a $5 cash donation (for the week, not per day) towards our scholarship fund to help students in the future.

Costumes
As you know our Cookie Dough fundraiser helps to defray the cost of costumes. We will also be doing a Calendar raffle fundraiser to help with these same costs. There is an early bird rate of $75 for costumes if paid by 10/18. We have billed for costumes so please make note of this when you review your account balance. Any costumes paid after 10/18 will increase to $85. All final costume payments are due by 12/13. If your costumes are not paid, they will NOT be ordered which results in your child not being able to participate in the Recital. Please keep in mind, these prices are cost per costume. Please see class descriptions for an accurate count of how many dances each class performs (for example: Creative Movement 2 has two costumes). There will be an additional $10 fee for an XL-up Adult costume. I know this is a tough time of year for people to be spending extra money but I will need to order the costumes in October-December to ensure their arrival. You may make payments at any time. Children will be measured and Miss Kiirsten will pick the costume size based on a sizing chart. If you want to pick your child’s size, please schedule a time with Miss Kiirsten to do so. There will be a $15 fee for a costume size exchange. IF YOU WANT AN EXCHANGE YOU WILL NEED TO PAY THE FEE REGARDLESS OF WHO PICKED YOUR CHILD’S SIZE.
Calendar Raffle Calendar
We are currently still accepting donations for the Raffle Calendar until 10/11. Calendars will be available to sell this month and are $10, with $5 going to the scholarship and $5 going to your account.
TRUNK OR TREAT FUNDRAISER EVENT
We are so excited to host our second annual TRUNK OR TREAT event on Saturday, October 25th from 12:30-2:30. We will host up to 20 cars that want to decorate their own vehicle’s trunk for kids to visit for either some treats or a game. We will also host some indoor Halloween games for the kids in Studio A. If you’d like to help out in other ways besides setting up your own car, you can donate bags of candy to the office between now and Friday, October 24th. This event will be open to the public and will cost $5 for each child attending. ALL of the money collected from this event will go directly to our scholarship fund to help dancers in financial hardship. Please email click this link if you would like to host a car.
