Yearly Overview & PoliciesWelcome Back to Season 19! We are so excited for a great dance season but wanted to review some important information.
If you have an issue with anything please address it with Miss Kiirsten or Miss Jocelyn. Our staff does all we can to make every year more successful than the last so please help us keep an open line of communication. You can personally email us at info@PirouetteDanceAcademy.com or call at 508-672-1423. Thank you and we look forward to a great year! |
NEW Policies
Please be aware of two new policies that we have added this year. They were in the Welcome Packet you received via email upon registration as well.
“Sit outs”:
A Sit out is when a student shows up for class but sits out the whole time for personal reasons such as an upset stomach. This has become a problem in the last few years so we do need to make a policy regarding it. Once a student sits out three times that will be counted as one unexcused absence.
Disciplinary Forms:
We will be introducing the use of Discipline Forms for students this year. After several verbal warnings, if behavior continues, your dancer will be issued a Discipline Form. See below for details. We are truly hoping we do not need to use them but they are here as a tool to help keep everyone on the same page regarding acceptable studio behavior and etiquette.
- First form-written warning
- Second form-dancer sitting out of all dance classes for a week (must be present)
- Third form– expulsion from the studio for the remainder of the season (tuition paid will not be refundable)
FundraisersPlease note: Fundraisers are designed specifically to help YOU and are OPTIONAL. All money you earn, besides the $5 per calendar, goes directly towards YOUR dance account. We understand the financial burden of extracurricular activities so try our best to provide opportunities to help. Popcorn FundraiserUnfortunately, this year we will no longer be doing the Cookie Dough Fundraiser. We were having too many issues with the manufacturer/quality of the dough. We have decided to switch to Popcorn this year. Forms are available now, and this is a CASH ONLY fundraiser. You will receive 50% profit of what you sell. Money and Forms are due by Saturday, 10/3. You may turn in forms early if someone is available in the office. Please make sure forms are filled out neatly as they are scanned through a computer system. Popcorn will need to be picked up at the studio on Friday, 11/20. Calendar RaffleThe Calendar Raffle is another fundraiser we do yearly. Unlike Cookie Dough, this is also to help replenish the scholarship fund. We are able to give out more and more money to students in need each year and this fundraiser is where a lot of the funds come from. How it works: The calendar will be for the month of December. The cost is $10 per calendar ($5 to your account & $5 to the scholarship fund). You will sell them for the month of November (and end of October). Each day in December we will pick a name and that person will win the prize associated with that day. In the past, we have gotten enough donations to also give the seller something but that goes based on donations collected. Getting a donation: Donations to the calendar will be due by Saturday, 10/10. We are asking that you go to local businesses and ask them to donate for the calendar. It can be a gift card, money, gift basket, items, etc. No donation is too big or too small; we make it work. We have attached a graphic below that you can bring to present to the business when asking for the donation. All businesses that donate do get their logo featured on the calendar. |
