THANK YOU
I wanted to start off by saying THANK YOU to all the parents/guardians that have made it possible for your dancers to be able to participate in dance this season. We have worked very hard as a studio to keep your children safe and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping them safe also by abiding by our COVID-19 protocols. Just a few things to keep in mind: Please be sure to be here promptly to pick up your children after class. The waiting room is closed so if you are late someone needs to wait outside with your child which prohibits them from fulfilling their normal duties. Please also use caution when pulling in since there are now a lot of kids in the parking lot.
Cookie Dough Fundraiser
You should have received your Cookie dough fundraising packet by now. If not, please get one from the waiting room. All money is due by 10/10. We will be able to take money during our weekly office hours if you call ahead and make an appointment. Orders MUST BE PICKED UP ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 20th. You will be given a specific time to come based on your dancer’s last name.
Wear Your Halloween Costume to dance!
Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we cannot have our Annual Halloween Party. However, we would love the kids to wear their Halloween Costumes to dance the week of 10/26-10/31. This is optional but we are PROHIBITING any and all snacks/treats being passed out. The younger classes will play socially distant games to Halloween music but we will NOT give out any candy as we did in past years in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. Your support with this is greatly appreciated.
Dance Shoes
A rule at Pirouette is that no dance shoes are to be worn outside then worn in the studio. Dance shoes are very expensive and get ruined very quickly if worn on outside services such as pavement. Also, when students wear their shoes outside, they bring in dirt, rocks and other particles that are then transferred onto our dance floors causing damage and slipping hazards. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILDREN TO WEAR THEIR DANCE SHOES OUTSIDE. If we see the children coming in with dance shoes on they will not be allowed to wear them in the classroom until properly cleaned.
Costumes
As you know our Cookie Dough fundraiser helps to defray the cost of costumes. Any extra money that goes beyond costume payments will be put towards tuition. We are doing an early bird rate of $65 (for non-P/D/A classes) for costumes if paid by 10/31. All P/D/A classes have a fee of $75 due by 10/17.
Any costumes paid after 10/31 the price will increase to $75. All final costume payments are due by December 5th. If your costumes are not paid your child cannot participate in Recital 2021.
Please keep in mind these prices are cost per costume. Please see class descriptions for an accurate count of how many dances each class performs (for example, Creative Movement 2 has two costumes). There will be an additional $10 fee for an XL and XXL Adult costume. I know this is a tough time of year for people to be spending extra money but I will need to order the costumes in December to ensure their arrival. You may make payments at any time. Children will be measured then the parents will be asked to pick the costume size based on a sizing chart. There will be a $10 fee for a costume size exchange. You will have the option to choose your own size or I can choose it for you. More information to follow. IF YOU WANT AN EXCHANGE YOU WILL NEED TO PAY THE FEE REGARDLESS OF WHO PICKED YOUR CHILD’S SIZE.
Costume Sizing
When it comes to costume measuring Miss Kiirsten is the one who measures all the kids. Due to COVID-19, we are establishing more protocols. I will be using a paper disposable tape measure for sizing. Each tape measure will be disposed of after use on your child. Both I and the student must wear a face covering while measuring is taking place. Proper hand sanitation will be performed in between measuring each child. If you are not comfortable with me measuring your child, I request you submit the following measurements to me via email by 11/2, Bust, Waist, Hips, and Girth.
For P/D/A students measuring will be the week of 10/5-10/10. For all other students it will be the week of 11/2-11/7. If your child is not here, they will be measured the following week.
Finale
Finale is the last dance of the Recital that closes the show. Finale is open to students in the following classes:
- Combo 1 & 2
- Acro 2 & 3
- Pom 2
- Hip Hop 2
- Irish 2
- Contemporary
- Musical Theater
- All Teal Classes
- All P/D/A classes
There will be a $25 fee to be in the finale, due by 12/5. There will also be a costume fee of $65 (IF PAID BEFORE 10/31, will go to $75 after this date). You will be billed for both when you sign up. Sign up form will be emailed to you. Practice times to be announced based on sign ups. We will have 2 rehearsals on Friday nights. Dates TBA. Attendance to these rehearsals is very important. Sign-up sheet will be emailed to you. Please note there will be a mandatory make up class required for a class missed. This will be an additional fee of $10 for this class for material missed and the class will be roughly 30 mins. SINCE THERE ARE ONLY TWO REHEARSALS, IF YOU MISS BOTH, YOU ARE NO LONGER ALLOWED TO BE IN THE FINALE AND WILL NOT RECEIVE ANY REFUNDS. SPACE IS LIMITED TO 14 KIDS IN EACH GROUP SO SIGN UP ASAP! FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!
