Pirouette Scholarship Applications
For those of you that don’t know, Pirouette began a scholarship fund after celebrating our 10 year anniversary back in 2018. Each year, we award a few dancers funds from the scholarship account to be used for tuition, costumes, or other dance related expenses. This past season, we were happy to have multiple students on scholarship. If your child, or another Pirouette dancer you know could potentially benefit from our scholarship, we ask that you kindly use the link below and fill out our Scholarship Application. We will do our best to grant as many students as possible per the funds available. Dancers selected for the scholarship will remain anonymous. This is an incredible gift given by our dance family and we want to continue its legacy for dancers in need. Please take this into consideration when applying. DEADLINE TO APPLY IS JUNE 28th! Click here to apply for the scholarship!
Year End Survey
We would love for you to take a few minutes of your time to fill out our anonymous survey to help make Pirouette the best it can be.

- If you have a question or concern during Recital DO NOT APPROACH THE BACKSTAGE STAFF OR STAFF DIRECTING FROM THE FRONT. Please bring your question or concern to the staff at the table in the foyer and they will make sure it gets to the appropriate person in a timely fashion.
- No food or drinks allowed in the auditorium (water only)
- Enter and exit the auditorium during a dance change only.
- Please be respectful of the staff member at the door. PROFANITIES OF ANY KIND WILL NOT BE TOLERATED AND WILL RESULT IN BEING REMOVED BY SECURITY FROM THE VENUE.
-
- NO NAIL/TOE POLISH!
- No earrings, body jewelry, rings, bracelets or jewelry of any kind!
- Please cover visible tattoos
-
- No sitting on the floor or the aisle during Recital. Everyone in the auditorium must purchase a ticket, with the exception of the person with the Parent Pass (more info to follow)
- No walking in front of the stage or in front of the teacher’s table. We will be directing the show from here so we need to keep it clear.
-
- Please be courteous to others and do not bring big balloons, stuffed animals, etc. into the Recital as they will block others’ view.
- Parents of little ones- Your children will be lined up in the hallway in front of the door to backstage. You may stay with them until they go backstage. NO PARENTS ARE ALLOWED BACKSTAGE. After their dance, please come retrieve them from the same area.
- You will be required to get your child to the hallway 2 numbers before their routine. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD IS READY TO PERFORM, WE DO NOT HOLD THE SHOW IF NOT EVERYONE IS THERE.
- If your child does not make it on the stage in time, they will not be allowed to run on in the middle of the dance.
- You may sit in our Parent Section for your child’s dance only, as long as you have your pass on.
Photography/Videotaping
- NO VIDEOTAPING/PHOTOGRAPHY ALLOWED DURING THE RECITAL!!!!
- You may videotape/take pictures at the rehearsal/dress rehearsal only.
- Flash photography is very distracting to the dancers, audience members, and instructors and therefore is not allowed. Anyone seen videotaping/photographing during Recital will be removed from the venue by security.
- Dancers will get a link with the full show emailed after Recital.
Recital Arrival/Departure
- Students are expected to arrive half an hour prior to show start time in full stage make-up, and hair. You may change into your first costume when you get there.
- If a student is not there in time, the show will start as expected. We will not hold a dance if you are late.
- For the little ones, once your dance is completed, you may leave if you are not in any other dances or the finale.
Costumes
-
- Please make sure costumes remain steamed and in good condition. We are putting on a professional show and want to have a professional appearance.
- Costumes have been steamed prior to you receiving them so please leave them hung up in a garment bag.
- Costumes are to be worn as decided on per costume book. Posters with the costumes and costume instructions will be available in dressing rooms.
- No changes can be made to the costumes without consulting an instructor.
- No underwear/bra under costumes. Wearing these undergarments causes “underwear lines” and looks extremely unprofessional if underwear is visible from stage. UNDERTARDS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN THE OFFICE!
- TIGHTS ARE YOUR UNDERWEAR FOR COSTUMES.
- TIGHTS/SHOES MUST BE THE SAME BRAND/COLOR THAT IS REQUIRED, which may be purchased at the studio.
- If your child does not have all pieces to their costume, has nail/toe polish, has on jewelry including earrings, or is wearing the wrong shoes/tights, they will not be allowed on stage to perform.
Dressing Areas
- NO MEN WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE DRESSING ROOM AREA AT ANY TIME. SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.
- FOR THE SAFETY OF THE STUDENTS, ONLY STUDENTS AND ONE FEMALE ADULT WITH A PARENT PASS ARE ALLOWED IN THE DRESSING AREA.
- Boys will use Restroom to change.
- The cafeteria will be the main dressing area for female students.
- As a reminder there are cameras in the cafeteria that the school CANNOT turn off for liability purposes. For this reason, we have multiple suggestions:
- You may change in the bathroom located inside the cafeteria.
- You may wear an undertard so you will always be covered when changing.
- You may bring a tent or set up a concealed changing area.
- PDA will provide some tents for changing. You may utilize these for privacy concerns.
- PDA classes will have a separate changing area due to quick changes. This room is strictly for PDA classes only.
- Doors will be labeled.
- Please no food or drinks around the costumes in the dressing area.
Parent Pass
- A Parent Pass is a pass given out to ONE parent per child during Rehearsal.
- The Parent Pass is a safety measure we have used successfully for years. If you have a parent pass, we know you belong to Pirouette and are a safe adult.
- If you lose your parent pass, it CANNOT be replaced and you lose admission.
- The parent pass admits ONE PARENT PER CHILD to: Rehearsal, Dress Rehearsal, Dressing Room, Parent Section during Recital day, and standing room during awards after second Recital show in the auditorium.
- Families that have multiple dancers get one pass per child in case you need to bring an extra female adult along for help with changing.
Parent Section
-
- The “Parent Section” is a designated area in the Auditorium where a parent who is changing a child may sit and watch ONLY their child’s dance, for free, WITH A PARENT PASS ON.
- These are designated seats for a parent who wishes to watch their child perform on stage but does not want to purchase a ticket to watch the whole show. They are strategically picked to cause limited disruption as you enter and exit the auditorium to attend to your dancer.
- YOU MAY NOT SIT HERE FOR THE WHOLE SHOW, ONLY DURING YOUR CHILD’S DANCE(S).
- You must be wearing your “Parent Pass” to sit in this section (parent pass explained above)
- This is not a seat for a parent to sit in for the whole show. We are placing 16 folding chairs beside the designated door to ensure you do not need to travel through aisles and disrupt the audience. There will only be 16 seats as there are only 16 students max per class (with the exception of finale). You may only sit here during your child’s dance then report immediately back to the dressing room.
- There are not as many seats as there are parents because logically all parents wouldn’t be sitting at one time.
- DO NOT SIT IN THIS SEAT THE ENTIRE SHOW OR LET OTHERS SIT THERE INCLUDING STUDENTS! Doing so will result in removal from the venue by security!
- Please do not sit on the aisle and have people walk over you. Move into the closest seat to the end of the Parent section.
- You will use the designated side entrance to get to these seats.
- If you would like to sit in the regular audience section and have a seat for the entire show, then you must purchase a ticket.
- Please note this is a courtesy given to one parent and if the rules are not followed, it will no longer be provided. Please help us keep this going for Recitals in future years by respecting the rules.
- There may be a live feed in the back. We are unsure as we have a new Videographer on staff and they cannot determine if the venue is suitable for a live feed until the show.
